Tulane University School of Medicine’s General Neurology division has extensive experience in evaluating and diagnosing patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. The division’s physicians see patients who have unclear diagnoses, a general neurology problem of any type, and patients who have ongoing chronic neurological problems that require intervention in several different areas. They provide services ranging from diagnoses and medical treatment to advice, counseling, and ongoing patient care. Patients may be treated in the General Neurology Clinic or referred to subspecialists when appropriate.

General Neurology has experience with a breadth of adult neurological problems, and commonly provides consultation for numerous conditions. stroke, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders/dementia, dizziness, neck and back pain, sleep disorders, neuromuscular disorders, seizures, peripheral disorders inherited disorders of the nervous system, headache, and other pain syndromes. Patients are often referred for initial diagnosis of symptoms including passing out, paralysis, weakness, numbness, dizziness, visual loss, hearing loss, problems with speaking or swallowing, and memory loss.
